Things to do while in the Ozarks

The Ozark mountains have many trails to explore. Scenic streams and limestone bluffs seem to adorn the  landscape at each turn of the trail. Experienced guides are able to provide custom trail rides based on the riders personal level of expertise. The Buffalo National River, Leatherwood Wilderness, Sylamore Creek and Ozark National Forest are a few trail riding areas to choose from.

White River Trout Fishing

The traditional White river float trip in a 20 ft johnboat is hard to beat. The day begins as the fog is lifting from the river and the trout begin to bite. By noon there are enough trout in the live well to pull over on a gravel bar and cook up a frying pan full of “taters and onions”, fresh trout, baked beans, skillet bread and have a salad. By 5:00 you will have become a veteran trout fisher.

Blanchard Springs Caverns

These beautiful caverns were not discovered until 1973. After a 10 year project, the U.S. Forest service have offered three guided tours of the caves along developed pathways. The Dripstone trail is 4/10 mile and takes about an hour. It is accessible to wheelchairs with strong assistance, the Discovery trail takes about an hour and a half and has nearly 700 stair steps and the wild cave tour is for the serious spelunker. All three trails meander through highly decorated rooms and passages.
